The Happiest Place on Earth

Well, we did it.  We took our kids to The Happiest Place on Earth, good ol' Disneyland.  Kevin got free tickets from work we just couldn't pass up, so we packed up the 2 oldest kids, left the 2 littles with grandma/pa and headed to California.
Our first day in California we spent at Legoland.  I had never been there before so I wasn't sure what to expect.  It was so much fun and the perfect amusement park for younger kids.  The rides weren't too wild or too crazy.  The roller coasters were a little more low-key.  It was the perfect way to break in our kids for Disneyland.
I have been to Disneyland several times but it has been about 12 years since my last time.  I couldn't remember all the in's and out's to the park.  Several of our friends suggested the we get the "fast pass app.  We followed their advice and it saved us so much time.  It was nice that Kevin didn't have to run all over the park getting fast passes to various rides.  We just did it on our phone.  Sometimes technology really is amazing.
We had park hopper passes so we started the day in California Adventure.  Our very first ride of the day was the Guardians of the Galaxy Tower.  We figured we may as well just break our kids in right away with a big ride.  As we waited in line we could tell they had no idea what they were in for.  Needless to say, they did not like it and asked us if we could not do any more rides like that one ever again.  haha.  Poor kids.  We definitely toned things down after that.
The favorite ride of the day by both Carter and Hayden was the, Finding Nemo, submarine ride.  Something about being in a "real" submarine, under the water was simply magical to them.  Kevin and I both agreed the Lighting McQueen car racing ride was the best of the day.
Even though it was super crowded, it was such a fun, memorable day.   I hope my kids never forget the magic they felt their first time to Disneyland.

Excited for the day to finally begin!

Hayden thought these girls, made entirely out of Lego's, were so beautiful.  Her smile kills me in this.

Carter loved all the Star Wars Lego's.

It's so crazy someone built this out of Lego's!

The kids first big roller coaster ride.  Hayden looks like she's going to vomit.

We spent a few hours at the beach as well. Hayden was upset when a wave came and got her clothes all wet.

This kid is a scavenger.  He loves collecting anything and everything.

Disneyland, Finding Nemo submarine ride.  Hayden's face says it all.

Cars Land.

It was fun going there just before Christmas and seeing all the Christmas decorations.

The kids couldn't even walk by the end of the day.  As we walked out of the park they both sat in the stroller and immediately fell asleep.  I think that's a good sign that it was a successful day.
