Well, he did it! Kevin just got accepted to a residency program and graduates from medical school this May. He will officially be a doctor. Before we started this journey 4 years ago people always told me it was probably going to be a long, difficult and stressful road. While there have certainly been bits and pieces of that, it really hasn't been at all what I was expecting. Between our schooling in Missouri and medical rotations in Arizona we have made some lifelong friends that we will always love. Kevin has been so great about always putting his family first. He has always been really good about getting up early to study so evenings can be spent with us, which I have been so grateful for. All in all, it has been a wonderful experience that I wouldn't change one bit. (Hopefully I'm not eating my words once we start residency).
Kevin recently applied to a bunch of different orthopedic surgery residencies across the country. It has been a tense couple of months waiting for match day to arrive to find out if, and where, we got accepted. We were totally willing to go anywhere but were really hoping to get into the Vegas program. We really wanted to live close to the strip.......just kidding.......his family lives in Vegas and my family is only a 5 hour drive away in Utah. Well, prayers are answered, we matched to Vegas!!!! We'll be moving there sometime in the next couple of months and couldn't be more excited.

I actually felt the same way about dental school. Everyone talked about how horrible it would be, but, honestly, it wasn't too bad, especially after the first two years/academic portion was over. Anyway, congratulations! I know that must be a huge relief for both of you!
