Just like with Carter I had a scheduled induction day. Hayden was due on the 10th and my induction day was on the 8th at 9:30pm. Lets just say that the 8th was a loooong day as I anxiously awaited 9:30 to come. Well 9:30 came but the hospital had a lot of women having babies that day so they called us and pushed me back to 11:00pm. Kev and I sat at home and waited another hour and a half. Finally we were able to get the show on the road. We got to the hospital at 11:00pm and by midnight they started me on pitocin to get my contractions going stronger (I was already having small ones). Holy smokes did they come fast and strong. I was totally fine and then, BAM, get me an epidural NOW! I went from a 2 on the 1-10 pain scale all the way to an 8 really fast. So I quickly got my epidural and everything was amazing after that. I was able to close my eyes and rest for a bit until I was ready to push. It was fabulous.
At 4:30am the nurse said, "ok before I call your doctor in, lets do one practice push to see if you're ready." I did one push and she said, "OK OK STOP! SHE'S COMING! LET ME GET THE DOCTOR!" So the doctor raced over to the hospital, came in, and one push later Hayden was here (4:45am).
She weighed 7.0 lbs and was 20 in. Unlike our little blondie, Carter, she has a full head of dark hair. I was born with dark hair so it'll be interesting to see if she stays brunette like Kev or loses it and comes in blonde like I did.
She has been such a good little baby, sleeps great through the night, rarely cries, and makes our hearts melt everyday.
Right before she arrived
First time snuggling her
Such a cute daddy
After having the baby, Kev needed a nap. Apparently it was an exhausting day for him....pshhh.
Carter's first words when seeing Hayden, "ohhhh coot" (cute).
Carter watching daddy change Hayden's diaper. He's thinking, "haha, sucker, now someone else gets to suffer the pain that I do."
Apparently our children like the "Magnum" look.
He wouldn't stop loving and kissing her.
We love you little Hayden.
