The Robins Curse

Anybody that knows my family well knows that every trip we go on, WITH OUT FAIL, has some crazy, bizarre, disastrous, wild, thing happen.  It's impossible for us to just have a calm, relaxing vacation.  I'm definitely not complaining, they make for GREAT memories.  I remember all of our vacations because of the crazy disasters we have on them.
Well this trip was no acception, it definitely had its share of memories.  My family and our good friends the Woolley's borrowed a big RV from a friend so they could drive out here to Missouri, spend Easter at our house, see sites in St. Louis and finish off doing the church tour of Nauvoo.  Although it was a little crammed in our house, we had a wonderful Easter with everyone.  The next day we all went to St Louis and went to the Science Museum, the arch, the City Museum, the St. Louis zoo, and the Budweiser factory (weird right? But it was actually really cool).  Well that's when our RV's transmission decided to break.  So, while the RV was in the shop getting repaired, we rented some vans and made our way up to Nauvoo.
I cannot even describe how amazing Nauvoo is.  There is such an amazing spirit there.  I love being in the Nauvoo stake and love even more that our temple is the Nauvoo temple.  Such incredible history there.  Well after that my family had planned to start the long trek home.  Sure enough the RV still wasn't fixed and it wouldn't be fixed for another 4 DAYS!!!!  We had dads that needed to get back to work, and kids that needed to get back to school.  Well, those people who HAD to get home rented a van to drive to Utah and those who could stick it out for 4 more days decided to head back to St. Louis and find more sites to see.  That was the VERY abridged version of our trip, but I don't think we'll ever forget the trip where we were literally stranded in St. Louis.

  4. Haha. What an awesome story/trip. It looks like you guys had a blast. My favorite-- "there were bodies everywhere". You guys seem to have fun even when disaster strikes. I'm glad your party fam could come to Kirksville so I could see that huge RV just parked in our little driveway. ;)
