For example, if you remember back to my post from our trip to Lake Powell last summer you'll remember that our boat started sinking in the middle of the lake. (read here) Yeah....not normal.
Anyways, this past weekend we thought it would be fun to take the horses and go riding up in the mountains. So my dad, Kev, some of my siblings, and I went up P.G. canyon and went for what was supposed to be a nice ride. Well, to make a long story short, my horse slipped off the side of the trail and went rolling down a very steep hill. Both my little brother Jace and I were on the horse and barely managed to make it off before getting taken down with the horse. The horse was stuck on it's back in a bunch of branches. Luckily we had some macho men to go down the hill and help the horse out. Don't worry, after a while the horse was able to get up and was totally fine. My recount of the story just doesn't do the experience justice. Maybe these pictures and video will help.
Riding with little brother Jace

The horse stuck in the branches

Poor horse wouldn't get up

Don't worry, he was fine

Afterwards we shot some blow darts

Little Jacey boy shootin' the BB gun

I love this picture. I asked my dad if he had two different boots on and his response was, "Yeah, and they're both right footed". haha! Oh and yes he has had that sweatshirt from high school and he is proud of it. (It's definitely faded over the years)

Kkkkkk.....that is insane. Please don't die because I love your face.
ReplyDeleteI'm not gonna lie, the picture of the new horse freaks me out a little bit. He looks dead...
ReplyDeleteAs for Robins family trips, I like to think of them as "adventures."
not normal at all! but... makes for some pretty awesome stories! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is CRAZY! Good thing you are safe! I had a friend who was trampled be a horse and she's alive and fine but her leg was shattered! You're lucky!
ReplyDeleteOh and I was DYING at that pic of your dad! HILARIOUS. I was surprised that no one else commented on that, I was rolling!
Our fam has crazy stories from vacations too and it always involves the same 2 people and we get a kick out of it everytime.
Mom told me this story this morning. I was dying laughing. One word...TYPICAL! One day we may have a trip go smoothly, but that just wouldn't be Robins style! I wish you had the whole experience of you guys bailing off the horse on film.
ReplyDeleteAhhh! That is freaky! The horse picture is a little disturbing. Bless his heart. Glad you and Jacey boy are ok!
ReplyDeleteOh, I didn't comment on Dad's boots! Again...TYPICAL!
ReplyDeletegood ghandi! how did you guys get out before you rolled down with him? did you just dive off or what?
ReplyDeleteWAIT, WHAT? HAHAHAHAH my favorite caption: "The horse stuck in the branches."
